Hey everyone, just wanted to confirm we're still on for tomorrow at six. I'll bring the notes from last week and we can pick up where we left off.

Features

Everything you need to read voice messages

Built around the way you already use Discord. No setup, no commands, no friction.

Voice message transcription

Turn any Discord voice message into clean, readable text the moment you need it. No more scrubbing through audio.

25 languages, auto-detected

Speak naturally. Transcribe detects the spoken language on its own and returns accurate text in 25 languages.

Right-click to transcribe

No commands to memorize. Right-click any voice message, open Apps, and choose Transcribe. That's the whole workflow.

Private ephemeral mode

Use Transcribe Ephemeral and the transcript shows up only for you. Perfect for sensitive or personal messages.

User-installable app

Add it to your profile once and it follows you everywhere, servers, DMs, and group chats, with no admin permissions.

Privacy-first by design

Audio is processed for transcription and discarded immediately. Nothing is stored, logged, or sent anywhere else.

How it works

Three ways to get a transcript

Pick whichever fits the moment. All three arrive in seconds.

  1. 01
    Method 1

    Right-click and choose Transcribe

Find any voice message in any channel or DM. Right-click it (or long-press on mobile), open the Apps menu, and select Transcribe. The transcript is posted as a reply everyone can read.

    • Works in servers, DMs, and group chats
    • Result is visible to the whole channel
  2. 02
    Method 2

    Use Transcribe Ephemeral for privacy

Same right-click, same Apps menu, but pick Transcribe Ephemeral. The transcript appears as a private reply that only you can see, ideal for personal or sensitive messages in DMs and group chats.

    • Only you see the transcript
    • Nothing lingers in the channel history for others
  3. 03
    Method 3

    Reply and mention the bot

Prefer typing? Reply to any voice message and mention @Transcribe. The bot reads the referenced voice message and posts the transcript back as a reply.

    • No menu navigation needed
    • Works the same way on mobile and desktop

Languages

25 languages, detected automatically

You don't pick a language. Transcribe listens to the audio and figures it out, then returns the transcript in the detected language. Each result shows which one was used.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Where does Transcribe work?

Anywhere Discord voice messages can appear: servers, direct messages, and group chats. Once the app is installed on your profile or in a server, it works across all of them.

Do I need server admin permissions to use it?

No. Add Transcribe to your own profile once and it follows you into every server, DM, and group chat you're in. No one has to approve it, and you never need server permissions.

Is my audio stored anywhere?

No. Audio is processed to produce the transcript and then discarded immediately. Nothing is kept, logged, or shared with third parties.

How do I keep a transcript private?

Right-click the voice message, open Apps, and choose Transcribe Ephemeral instead of Transcribe. The transcript shows up as a private reply visible only to you.

Which languages are supported?

25 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Dutch, and more. The spoken language is detected automatically, so you never have to specify it.

What's the difference between 'Add to server' and 'Add to profile'?

'Add to server' installs the bot into one specific server, where everyone there can use it. 'Add to profile' installs it as a user app on your account, so it follows you everywhere without any server setup.
